Puppies Chewing
Pet Care & Training Tips
Chewing is often a problem with puppies and one that has to be controlled if the pet is to remain part of your household. A puppy must be trained to direct this normal chewing behavior to the right king of objects. This requires patience and persistence.
Confine your puppy when you're not around in a comfortable space with appropriate chew toys that it will learn to regard as "his/hers" for gnawing on. When your puppy chews on inappropriate items when you are around distract him/her with a more attractive option and give praise for good behavior. If chewing persists on household items use a mixture of vinegar/water/and pepper to make them less tempting.
1 cup vinegar, 1 TBSP pepper, juice of a lemon, 1 cup water
